So often we react to events, problems, people and much more. When we react with anger, comments, concerns, irrational thinking, we often cause more of a problem.
If we simply sat back and refused to react, to an argument, we would be throwing cold water on the fire and in so doing put it out, instead of causing a real blazer!
If we live to blame others from our life to ensure that we get some vindictive pleasure from seeing them suffer at our expense, do we win or lose? Often we lose, and become bitter and even more self centred.
When we refuse to react, we bring about a peace that is not false, stolen or coverted, a peace that lasts in the heart.
Next time someone really annoys you try not responding with negative or counterproductive comments, try simply walking away. Inside you will be fuming, like a fire in its raw state, boiling with anger, or cool with guilt or retribution. But, a few calm breaths and guess what? You are the winner not the loser, you have successfully thwarted the target of the opponent in your life. You will find that the situation you reacted too will be calmer far quicker than before.
Life is for living, bringing the light of God into our lives and those around us, when we get angry and bad mouth, we turn off the light and blow the circuit. When you give someone a peace of your own mind, you definately lose your own peace, centre of calm and inner light, is it really worth it?

Kabbalah
Finding time to enjoy some downtime is not always easy. Over recent weeks I have discovered the joy of Jewish Mysticism. Reading widely as I do, I have found a wealth of real deep spiritual impact from the Old Testament, or to give its its correct name -'Torah'. In doing so, I stumbled upon the Kabbalah and as such have been reading some really interesting documents that literally lift the gloom from your normal 'thou shalt, not, stuff.
I can wholeheartedly recommend learning more about this really deeply impacting spirituality, it shows how gentle God is, and moreover, how sadly through aspects of Christian faith we have missed the point in some wonderful aspects.
I am finding the Jewish interest in Philosoply, Metaphysics, Meditation and lifestyle so revealing and moreso, a weath of real moving and thought provoking spirituality.
Prayer and meditation is much more fresh and dynamic and a real deep experience. I can so recommend this focus.

Where the Paths Meet ..
The current title of my new novel about to go through the rigours of publication processes. Its been a hard road writing my first novel, but well worth the headaches and heartaches.
The book is about ecumenical collaboration through the eyes of a female minister of religion who encounters all the characters who both encourage and thwart ecumenical endeavours. With some pointers, guides and ideas for ones own exploration of ecumenism.
The novel is set over the decades of the 70's, 80's & 90's, has humour, heartache, reluctance and revelation but most obvious it shows the clear and unmistakeable hand of God's Spirit as the characters reveal His voice and actions in there lives and communities.
The book will be available just before Christmas 2010. Watch this blog for purchasing details shortly beforehand.
